Overview
This beautiful 4-bedroom 3-bath villa and its grounds are reserved entirely for you and your traveling companions. Built in the early 1920s, the villa’s 2,400 square feet (223 square meters) of living space have been completely modernized without sacrificing their original detail. You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds – the feel of an authentic Italian villa and the elegance of carefully-selected antiques, along with modern appliances, luxury mattresses and linens, and 21st century conveniences.
Interior
The villa comfortably sleeps up to eight people in four bedrooms, each with large double-pane screened windows, ceiling fans and air conditioners. Decorative iron bed frames with plush imported mattresses, luxury towels and linens, goose down duvets, and extra pillows ensure a sumptuous sleep. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a king bed and ensuite bathroom. Two other bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twins, share a second bathroom with double sinks and a Victorian-style clawfoot tub. Both upstairs bathrooms also contain showers with large sunflower shower heads. There is a small balcony overlooking the nearby nature reserve and Tuscany’s Mount Amiata, and all upstairs bedrooms enjoy plenty of sunshine and views of the gardens, the nature reserve, and the 1,000-year-old village.
Downstairs is the fourth bedroom, with two twin beds, and a third full bathroom with a shower. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with modern appliances and doors leading directly to the outdoor dining table (pergola) and gardens. Gather in the ample dining room around a table that seats 10 and a fireplace. Or retreat to the cozy library to enjoy one of the many books from our shelves, a DVD from our collection, or an after dinner digestivo.
Gardens
The villa’s half-acre of private landscaped gardens feel secluded and serene. We invite guests to take advantage of the garden’s seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs. Enjoy a nap in one of two rope hammocks under the shade of the 150-year-old chestnut tree, or take in some sun on one of four Adirondack chairs.
The large pergola serves as the focal point of the outdoor patio, with a table that comfortably seats 12 and an outdoor stone grill. You won’t quickly forget the relaxing feel of enjoying a meal under the overhanging grapevines, while the church bells toll in the distance.
In the garden is also a wisteria-covered gazebo, which is a more private spot to relax with a glass of wine or a book. The underground stone cantina is stocked with local red and white wines from Orvieto that are for guests to enjoy.
